The Water Fittings Regulations and Scottish Water Byelaws are national requirements that govern the design, installation, operation and maintenance of plumbing systems, water fittings and appliances which use water they are designed to protect public health and promote the efficient use of water. As a business, it is your legal duty to ensure your systems satisfy these requirements. The regulations impose general requirements in relation to water fittings, including that they must not cause waste, misuse, undue consumption or contamination of the water supplied. The requirements for water fittings include being of an appropriate quality and standard, suitable for the circumstances in which they will be used.
